Pipes - Smooth vs Ridges

Every contractor seems to have a different opinion on the type of pipe that should be used to funnel water to the sump pump. The debate centers on using a smooth rigid pvc pipe vs using the flexible pipe with ridges. Which one should we use?

Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing calls the flexible pipe with ridges ADS (Advaned Delivery System). Sounds to me like hype designed to slam the competition. The PVC is a very durable pipe and seems more durable. I'd love response from professionals.
