I have an eight year old house with a basement . It has a outside tile and a sump pit inside. Never needed a sump pump and always dry in the pit until last April. It rained 20 inches in that month and 3 inches within a 24-hour period and flooded by basement with 5 inches. No problem since then, but still want
to waterproof my basement. Which is better - waterguard or
pvc tile system and why? I was told that pvc pipe can be cleaned out easier than corrugated tile. Is that correct?

A WaterGuard system is made of pvc but that is not necessarily the key performance factor. The Key to the Basement Systems WaterGuard system is in its design and placement. It sits on the footing where the water is entering, between the footing and wall or base of the block wall. It is not sitting in the dirt or when wet MUD. This drastically reduces the chances of WaterGuard ever clogging. It can also be installed with inspection ports.
