Yesterday, four years after my basement was finished, water started leaking in and my carpet got wet (my basement is finished so I can't see behind the walls). I have two sump pumps which were doing a good job of keeping water out f my basement. The thing I noticed that seemed strange is that the sump pump in the far corner had a few inches of water at the bottom (which is normal) but the sump pump in the near corner was totally dry right to the bottom (that does not seem normal).
