Living in Dallas everyone believes it would be next to impossible to build a basement in their neighborhood. The soil in many areas further north only goes down about 18" before white rock is reached, if any type of rock is reached at all. The white rock that many believe is solid is Tan Lime stone and it often times goes down about 20’ where we reach a harder material which is Grey Lime stone. People talk about the large boulders that excavators hit during excavation and label the boulders as solid rock. These are misconceptions about Tan Lime stone, which is in fact rock that is easily broken up with a bull dozer or a back hoe. The Lime stone is also called “caliche” which is not really a solid rock at all, and once anyone watches a clawed bucket removing lime stone they will agree it is not solid. The feeling that this stone is too hard and you can’t build on it is false. In fact, when building a heavy structure, digging down until you hit bedrock is what engineers prefer. Many Builders, excavators and home owners prefer building on any variety of Limestone. Actually it is hard enough that it can be treated like bedrock, which is perfect to build on and with the proper equipment is excavated much faster. If you’re pouring a slab or large walls building on Lime stone offers great stability and will save you money. Footings don’t have to be set up, poured then wait for it to harden before pouring slab or walls. All the advantages of building on bedrock without the time and money it would take to excavate it.

You can find many contractors today in Texas that will build a basement for you, but they don't usually offer the large number of other things you need done to keep it from leaking. Make sure you use a basement company to build your basement so you don't find your self looking for other companies to finish your project. A contractor will help you but they may not be educated in all the options available to you today. Don't build an old style basement when you can build a green basement stronger with a guarantee that it will not leak.

So remember their are basements in Texas. You can see one in Fairview, TX which is on display for all to see. Visit their website :http:// thebasementkings.net or you can purchase the first book about basements and save yourself thousands of dollars building a new or adding a basement to our existing home. http://www.fastpencil.com/publicatio...ding-Basements

A basement specialist is really a Basement Consultant.
A person that is able to help you will all your basement needs from deciding if you can have a basement to how it should be built. Today many people have been using Professional Building Inspectors to help build their basement who is not really the same person. A Basement Consultant helps you put together everything about your basement that you did not know you every needed. A few areas have in the state of Texas actually have restrictions one how you can build a basement. If you decided to build one on your own and hired an architect and engineers to draw it up, then you just found out that you wasted your money. If there was a size restriction your drawings could not be used, and if you found piers were required as part of your sweat plan your costs just exploded. Adding piers on your property line to separating your neighbor's property can get quite expensive. It is for the protection of your neighbor's house not sinking towards yours and in some cities they are required. A Basement Specialist/Consultant will save you thousands of dollars that you never knew your going to spend.

A Professional Inspector will not be able to help you when you really need it the most, which is at the beginning stage of the decision making process. An Inspector is really important to have when you have moved onto the construction state of building your basement. A Professional inspector is uniquely qualified to help you with every stage of your actual building. They have been certified by the state to be professionals in Concrete, Electrical, Plumbing, Air Conditioning, Framing, Roofing, Insulation and in the State of Texas even Appliances. Many hire out their services to help you make sure that your building contractors stay within or if not exceed the states code requirements. Considering they are the only contractors in the State of Texas which is required to be licensed. There are no builders licenses in Texas so builders may not have any formal education, no type of insurance to protect you. When a professional is not required by abide by any certifications or laws it simply means there is no industry oversight or ethics.

So if your interested in building a new or adding a basement to a existing home look for a Basement Consultant/ Basement Specialist. The time they will save you is UN-measurable especially in areas like Texas where Basement Builders are few.

So if you already have a set of building plans and are ready to begin your project a Professional Building Inspector will be able to help and hold your hand throughout the process. Be aware you will be talking them into taking the job because they are the only ones really geared to watch your back. Did you know that other than you who need a "builders risk" insurance policy before you can build your basement, no body else has to have insurance. A Professional Inspector is required in nearly every state to have not only liability insurance but in States like Texas they are required to have "Error and Omission" insurance. They are the only ones like you who will actually have some skin in the game as we say. Do your homework and make sure you have someone watching your back because your builder don't always do it.

You can find a basement specialist at:Http://www.thebasementkings.net

You an hire a Professional Basement Inspector license # 20238 at the basement kings.

Learn everything on your own from the 1st book on building basements which is on sale now from: http://www.fastpencil.com/publicatio...ding-Basements

BEIJING, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang said Tuesday that China would coordinate its national family planning policy, nike air force stabilizing an appropriately low birth rate and improving the quality of its population.

"The fact remains that China has a large population. The issue of population is always a major issue for China's social and economic development," Gucci handbags said Li at a seminar marking the 30th anniversary of the Family Planning Association of China in Beijing.
jordan air
The government must solve the issue in a way that takes into consideration the whole picture of China's long-term social and economic development, he said.

Chinese government statistics show China's population stood at 1.32 billion at the end of 2008, which was about 2.5 times the number in 1949 when the People's Republic of China was founded. buy handbags

The Chinese government adopted a family planning policy in the late 1970s which basically permits most urban households to have only one child.

The policy had helped China's total population increase less than 40 percent between 1978 and 2008, whereas it nearly doubled between 1949 and 1978.nike shox tl

Li said the government would make efforts to improve the quality of the population, optimize the population structure and spur the rational distribution of the people, so as to turn the pressure of the population into an advantage of human resources.

He also said the government would launch measures to narrow the widening ratio of men to women and address problems arising with an aging population.

The population aged at or above 60-years-old will top 200 million by the end of 2015, government reports showed.

Yesterday, four years after my basement was finished, water started leaking in and my carpet got wet (my basement is finished so I can't see behind the walls). I have two sump pumps which were doing a good job of keeping water out f my basement. The thing I noticed that seemed strange is that the sump pump in the far corner had a few inches of water at the bottom (which is normal) but the sump pump in the near corner was totally dry right to the bottom (that does not seem normal). I'm looking for ideas of why that sump pump well might be dry and if it could be affecting the water leaking in. Any ideas before I tear up the walls? I live in New Jersey and it's been a particularly cold and snowy winter

:confused:I have been presented with a few options for waterproofing a wet basement wall and need unbiased opinions as to what is needed and what isn't. My home is 100 years old. The ground on the north side gets supersaturated at times due to the neighbors water runoff from rain and melting snow. What I have been told: 1) correct the grade 2) tuckpoint the seam 3) dig to a depth of 12"-18" and use tar and feltpaper ? 4) remove soil to an unspecified depth below seam 5) put in a French drain. Will someone please sort this out for me? What do I really need to do? Occasionally there will be small amounts of water that run on to the floor but no water flows out through any holes or cracks...the wall is just wet from just below window level to the floor. I will be contracting to have the work done so a list of materials needed would be helpful also as well as a suggested price range if appropriate. Thanks!
