My house is almost 100 years old. All but one side of the basement is built with rock walls. They appear to be "bulging" in places. It is always damp down there but we have no obvious leaks unless we water in the front yard too much, then the water comes in through the rocks. A large concrete shelf was built across half the basement and I can only guess it was put there for stability. I want to know how to seal these rocks. My neighbor plastered his with concrete but he is well versed in home repair and has done that before. I want opinions on how to seal these walls if it can be done. Thank you for your help.
