  • Aged Brick Home

    Hello,

I am currently living a brick home that is over 100 years old. The brick on the out side of the home is noticeably aged. Have had issues with the internal walls cracking and keys in it breaking in the past couple of years. Have received a recommendation from a contractor to protect the external brick with a sealant. Not sure if there are other possible causes other then that. The roofing has been checked and there are no leaks. Can anybody provide feedback on this type of issue? ....I am concerned about the walls in the home becoming significantly damaged and about the possibility that the exterior brick is not sufficiently protected. It is a historical building and I would like it to be in good condition when it is passed on to someone else.

Thank you for any information you can provide,
